Two award winning Chelsea gardens feature Grundon aggregates

Grundon Sand & Gravel has supported two award-winning gardens at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, supplying decorative aggregates to both displays.

Grundon provided 10 bulk bags of Coxwell Self-Binding Path Gravel to the Campaign to Protect Rural England’s ‘On the Edge’ garden, designed by renowned landscape designer Sarah Eberle. The garden was awarded a gold medal and also named RHS Chelsea Garden of the Year at the prestigious event.

Grundon also sponsored Sarah’s garden, which marked her 30th year exhibiting at Chelsea. Designed to highlight the overlooked countryside on the edge of towns and cities, Sarah Eberle’s garden celebrated nature’s resilience and the importance of connecting people with green spaces.

The natural appearance of the gravel proved particularly popular with visitors throughout the week.

Grundon also donated five bulk bags of 10mm Cotswold Rounded Shingle to the Addleshaw Goddard ‘Flourish in the City’ garden, designed by Joe and Laura Carey. Inspired by London’s hidden gardens and pocket-sized green spaces, the garden celebrated the role urban nature plays in bringing people together within the city.

The garden was awarded a gold medal and named RHS Chelsea Small Garden of the Year.

Chris Cowper, Sales Manager at Grundon Sand & Gravel, said:

“It was fantastic to support two gardens that received such high recognition at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show. Seeing our aggregates used within these inspirational designs was a proud moment for the team, particularly as both gardens promoted important messages around nature, sustainability and the value of green spaces.

“Supporting Sarah Eberle in her 30th Chelsea garden also made this year especially memorable.”

Held annually at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show is one of the most prestigious horticultural events, attracting leading garden designers, growers and visitors from around the world.
