Grundon Waste Management have been presented with a certificate in recognition of their valuable contribution in supporting the Colne Valley Park Community Interest Company (the CIC).
At the attractive location of the Old Orchard in Harefield, with its stunning far reaching views over the Colne Valley, directors of the CIC presented certificates to its Founding Corporate Supporters. The presentation acknowledged the involvement of the Founding Corporate Supporters, including Grundon, in supporting and contributing to the CIC. The Colne Valley Park CIC aims to preserve and enhance the landscape of the Colne Valley for the benefit of the three million people who live within 10 miles of the Park.
Denise Adler, Director of the Colne Valley Park Community Interest Company presents Anthony Foxlee-Brown, Marketing Communications Manager for Grundon, with a certificate in recognition for the company’s support and for being a Founding Corporate Supporter.
The Colne Valley Park covers 43 square miles of countryside right on the edge of London and is a mosaic of farmland, woodland, water and villages.
The Park runs from Rickmansworth in the north to Staines in the south, from Uxbridge in the east to Chalfont and Slough in the west. The Park contains many valuable wildlife habitats and many opportunities to get up close with rare wildlife.
The CIC’s has six main objectives, which are:
- To maintain and enhance the landscape, historic environment and waterscape of the Park in terms of their scenic and conservation value and their overall amenity.
- To safeguard the countryside of the Park from inappropriate development. Where development is permissible it will encourage the highest possible standards of design.
- To conserve and enhance biodiversity within the Park through the protection and management of its species, habitats and geological features
- To provide opportunities for countryside recreation and ensure that facilities are accessible to all
- To achieve a vibrant and sustainable rural economy, including farming and forestry, underpinning the value of the countryside
- To encourage community participation including volunteering and environmental education. To promote the health and social well-being benefits that access to high quality green space brings
Anthony Foxlee-Brown, Marketing Communications Manager from Grundon said: “Our recycling, recovery and Energy from Waste facilities at Colnbrook are located right in the middle of the Colne Valley Park, and many of our staff live within its boundaries. As a socially responsible company we want to make a strong and positive contribution to the further development of the Colne Valley Park as a place in which to live, work and enjoy recreational time”
